About The Project
Project Benefits
Calistoga Road is a key corridor for residents, businesses, students and commuters. Over time, the roadway and underlying infrastructure have deteriorated and now require significant rehabilitation. This project is designed to:
Improve roadway durability and ride quality
Enhance safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians
Upgrade aging water and sewer infrastructure
Improve accessibility to meet current ADA standards
Support long-term mobility and connectivity in the area
During Construction
What to Expect
The Calistoga Road Pavement Rehabilitation & Utility Improvement Project will include complete roadway rehabilitation from Montecito Avenue to Highway 12. You can expect the following to occur over the course of construction;
Roadway Rehabilitation
- Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) of travel lanes and center turn lane
- Mill and overlay for parking and bike lanes
- Improvements to address pavement deterioration
Bicycle Improvements
- Buffered bike lanes (Marit Drive to San Luis Avenue)
- Protected bike lanes with delineators (San Luis Avenue to Montecito Blvd)
- Maintenance of existing Class II bike lanes in other segments
Pedestrian Improvements
- Upgrades to curb ramps to meet ADA standards
- Improved accessibility along the corridor
Utility Upgrades
- Replacement and upsizing of approximately 7,629 linear feet of water mains
- Replacement of approximately 1,825 linear feet of sewer lines
- Installation of new hydrants, valve boxes, and manhole improvements
Construction activities will generate noise, dust, and the presence of heavy equipment within the work zone. The City appreciates the community’s patience as these improvements are completed.
When traveling through the construction area, please watch for workers and equipment, follow posted signage, and obey directions from flaggers. Using alternate routes when possible can help reduce travel delays and improve safety for both workers and motorists.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we rehabilitate our roads. For more information please visit the City of Santa Rosa’s Calistoga Road Pavement Rehabilitation & Utility Improvement Project webpage.
